Lady Cantara Savienne, Renshai Knight of the Crown

Lady Cantara Savienne, Renshai Knight of the Crown was born in the great city of Palanthas. Her parents, Father Arius and Lady Merid, were among the holy order of Paladine and served their people through their devout faith and good will. Being among one of the highest respected families of the land, she was raised with the blessing of Paladine and adopted the faith for which the Savienne's were revered.

Life as a child in Palanthas exposed her to many things, including the poverty and filth of those unfortunate citizens who were not as blessed as she and her family. She watched daily as the Knights of Solamnia stationed within her city cared for and aided these poor individuals, and grew a deep longing to join these devout warriors. It was only at the age of 14 that she started her personal training to fulfil her dreams by becoming a holy warrior of Paladine.

Several years later, she bid her family farewell to continue her holy quest. Many hardships ensued, for she was now roaming the lands about which she had only read. But she was a quick learner with fierce determination, and grew quickly in faith and prowess. She had found her life's calling.

She spent the next few years wandering Krynn, learning what she could and preparing for the time she may be able to seek out the Knighthood of Solamnia and offer her aid. But this came about much sooner than she had dreamed of. One fateful day, she had heard word of a dark curse which had fallen upon a forest outside of the city of Kalaman, and, determined to find it's cause, entered with hopes of correcting the wrong which had been done there. She valiently fought her way towards the center of the doomed forest, where she met Corak, a warrior as fierce as she. A grand battle ensued. Cantara finally deafeted her foe, but she was left exhausted and on the verge of collapse. She spent many hours lying in the foul underground of the forest, desperately praying to Paladine that she would not be found by the wicked creatures who roamed the halls.

Her heart sunk as the door to her sanctuary cracked open. She attempted to raise her sword, knowing she would not be able to defend herself against another attack yet determined to fight even after she could no longer stand. But Paladine was truly with her, as it was no fiend who entered through the portal, but a man dressed in brilliant armor. Seeing Cantara's distress, he rested beside her and aided her plight. He spoke of many things, and when he mentioned the Knighthood Cantara's heart soared. He said he was a very close friend to Sir Noryl D'Vaincre, a very well respected Knight of Paladine, and that he would pass Cantara's interest in the Order on to him. Together, they fought their way out of the forest and vanquished the curse which had kept it in darkness for so long.

This is how she came to be known as Lady Cantara Savienne, Knight of the Crown. She had found her place fighing amongside such legendary heroes as Lord Justinian Silverguard, Lord Noryl d'Vaincre, Lord Regere Solamnus, and Sir Agravain de Galis. It was not long after that she met a young dwarf, who would soon be known as Sir Mand Amodai of Renshai. She quickly became friends with this fellow, and they shared many grand adventures together in the years to come.

Life for Cantara continued in this way, until an urgent message from her father sent her back to her home of Palanthas. She learned that the Dragonarmies had invaded her beloved home and savagely pilliaged the entire area, leaving her mother dead and her father barely on the verge of life. She stayed by his side for many months, until the day came when his body could endure no longer. Left without a family, Cantara's hope and will to adventure had all but dissapeared completely.

Just when she had about given up all hope of being able to continue her dismal life, Cantara received word from an old friend. Sir Mand had sent her his concern about her plight, and asked if she would consider spending some time with him and his family, the Renshai. It was difficult for her pick herself up and head off once again, but she thought that leaving the foul memories of the Dragonarmy's wrath may help her in the times to come. She headed out to travel with the Renshai.

It was only a short while after her initial meeting with these folks that she found herself becoming quite attached to them, and apparently they felt the same because she was quickly asked to join their family. She had finally found someone who needed her, and someone whom she needed just as much. It was among the company of her beloved family Renshai that she spent the rest of her days on Krynn.
